Dr. Dan Brandel, Senior Pastor
“I was born and raised in Idaho spending most of my childhood in Boise. I went to Idaho State on a baseball ride. Through the ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ, I came to know Jesus as Lord and Savior my freshman year. I transferred to Oklahoma Baptist University my junior year and received a double major in speech and religion. Between my junior and senior year, while serving on summer missions, I met Connie and the relationship blossomed into engagement during my senior year.
Upon graduation in 1971, I returned to Boise and planted a mission church near the Boise State campus. I returned to Oklahoma to marry Connie who graduated in 1972. We returned to the northwest and I pastored in Othello, WA. for 3 years. During that time a girl and boy were added to our family. I pastored in the Seattle area for 5 years. In 1980 we moved to Texas and pursued my Master of Divinity at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. I became involved heavily in Evangelism Explosion and taught clinics for them for many years.
Upon graduating in 1984 I became an Associate Pastor of Evangelism and Discipleship at First Baptist in Hialeah, Fl. After two years I became the interim pastor for three years. During that time God added two more sons to our family. We returned to the northwest in 1990 where I pastored Emmanuel Baptist Church in Coeur d’ Alene, ID for fifteen years. God added another son to our family. During this time I also earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. I had the privilege of serving as Vice President of the Northwest Baptist Convention twice, and also served as a trustee of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary for ten years.
After pastoring for 6 years in Springfield, OR., we returned to north Idaho where our 3 married children and 5 grandchildren live to begin semi-retirement. I now serve as Associate Pastor of New Beginnings Baptist Church in Rathdrum, ID.”
Larry Parker, Administrative Pastor
I was licensed to preach by East Acres Baptist Church, Millington, TN in 1970. Then in 1974, I was ordained by First Baptist Church, Havelock, NC. I have pastored three church; Huggins Memorial Baptist Church, Harker Island, NC, Athol Baptist Church, Athol, ID and New Beginnings Baptist Church, Rathdrum, ID. I have also served various ministries in several different church including janitor, teacher, and administrator. While in the Marines, I had to opportunity to lead Bible classes in barracks and also brigs. God has lead me to serve churches that could not afford a full-time pastor and he has provided me a livelihood through electronics and technology.
My education has come to me as I needed information. I attended Prairie Bible Institute for two years and then was sent a draft notice. I enlisted in the Marines who sent me to electronics school. For various reasons, Cindy and I decided to make the Marines a career. The Marines has sent me to several electronics and administrative schools as well as to National University where I receive a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. My religious training was gained through conferences, seminars, reading, and on-the-job training.
While attending Prairie, I met Cindy Puddy, who I married 18 months later. We have taken care of each other since 1966. Her artistic skills and domestic skills have created a very comfortable life for us. When I met her, she had a beautiful singing voice and sang many years in church. Unfortunately, her hearing loss has cost her that singing voice. However, she continues to excel teaching and sharing the love of Jesus.
Our desire is to continue our journey walking and serving Jesus who is our Lord and Savior. New Beginnings has given us the opportunity to use our talents in and with a wonderful group of people. We consider ourselves as blessed by God and good friends wherever God has taken us.
